Why Turkey? Istanbul was already familiar, dating back, for Anne and me, to 1957 when we returned in leisurely fashion from two-years-plus in Saigon. And I met with son Geoff there in 1972 when he was traveling though he Middle East with Choate teacher Mounir Saadah. Intervening years have taken me to 110 countries, Anne to about 80. My file on Turkey, which starts with 1972 clippings, has grown fatter year by year. Why?
